Founder & Managing Director

James Capon.

James founded Heated Mechanical Services in 2023 with a clear ambition: to help create more energy-efficient homes through carefully designed systems and exceptional project delivery.

His career began with a plumbing apprenticeship in 2014. After completing his training, he moved through the ranks of a mechanical services company into contracts management, delivering residential developments ranging from individual homes to schemes of 30 properties. His experience spans starter homes through to high-specification prime residences, working across different specifications, budgets and client expectations.

James later moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he became Operations Manager for a large heating company. He oversaw the daily work of 30 technicians across multiple projects, including some of the city’s prestigious residential properties. This broadened his experience of managing teams, coordinating installations and delivering work to demanding standards.

Today, James oversees HMS’s day-to-day operations, business development and innovation. A qualified plumber and heating engineer, with qualifications in heat pump design and installation, he brings practical knowledge alongside experience in project and operational management.

James is dedicated to building a more energy-efficient future. His vision for HMS is to set a higher standard for mechanical services, bringing together thoughtful system design, renewable technologies and exceptional project delivery. That commitment means considering how the systems installed today can reduce energy waste, improve comfort and deliver lasting performance. He sees every project as an opportunity to put sustainability into practice and help shape a more efficient future for the homes and buildings we depend on.
